Teaching value within, through service learning activities. The Scott Helping Children (SHC) Foundation's focused mission is to develop inspiring life skills that strengthen academic environments through early education programs that demonstrate future civic responsibility and promote service learning for young people from kindergarten to high school.
To Scott Helping Children Foundation, a youth-based Service Learning organization, leading from within...
"Along with developing heads, we must also develop hearts. For it is the heart alone that determines whether the power derived from knowledge will be used for positive means or negative ends."
Service learning is a teaching method that enriches learning by engaging students in meaningful service with their learning institutions and communities. Through the understanding of universal human values, young people apply academic skills to solving real-world issues, linking established learning objectives with genuine needs. They lead the process, with adults as partners, applying critical thinking and problem-solving skills to concerns such as hunger, diversity and environmental concerns.
Life's journey is different for everyone, developing self-value and global awareness of the interrelationships of all things through human values, Scott Helping Children Foundation is humbled to work in Partnership with Melinda Vail and the Institute of Sathya Sai Education - USA to promote higher enrichment within and lifelong learning beyond the classroom.
